Stopping Smoking Is Easy!

March 30th, 2010

Who was it that said that stopping smoking was hard?  Was it the tobacco companies that wanted you to continue smoking so that you could forever line their pockets with your hard earned money?

Was it the drug companies looking to sell you their latest drug therapy that would likely not work, but take months and months to have any effect?

Who was it?  Surely it wasn’t your hypnotist!  With hypnosis, stopping smoking is easy, painless and quick.

Hollywood Responsible for Smoking Deaths?

August 18th, 2010

With Michael Douglas’ throat cancer in the news, here’s something for you to think about as you struggle with
the desire to free yourself of the smoking problem.

Hypnosis to quit smoking in film

Hypnosis to quit smoking in film

Joe Esterhaus, a screenwriter responsible for many of our classic great films came forward a few years ago to reveal his hand in the built up positive image of cigarettes and smoking as depicted in film. After he himself was diagnosed with throat cancer he came to the realization that filmmakers like him have done a lot of damage with the depiction of smoking in a positive light.

Michael Douglas’ throat cancer problem is now in the news, and it was Michael’s role in the Joe Esterhaus film, Basic Instinct, where cigarettes had a supporting character role. Joe wrote about it in his New York Times Op-Ed piece that you can read here:

I would hate to see Michael Douglas’ last work to be an anti-cigarette commercial a la Yul Brynner.

Hypnosis to quit smoking is a powerful tool that Michael Douglas can use to stop his smoking behavior.

Do you think Hollywood should stop romanticizing cigarette smoking?  What do you think?  Post your comments below.

Laser Quit Smoking – Is It Right For You?

July 10th, 2010

A recent development in ways for help quitting smoking is the use of the laser quit smoking method. Whether laser quit smoking is right for you or not depends on some factors. First let’s examine what’s involved with this treatment for smoking.

laser quit smoking

laser quit smoking is unproven light energy

The quit smoking laser therapy, which is also known as laser acupuncture uses a low-power laser beam. It directs these beams at different points on the body, similar to the way that acupuncture sticks needles into the body along certain energy meridians. This laser has been approved by the FDA but only for uses in temporary relief of pain.

In some studies that were done recently it showed that stop smoking laser treatment had a success rate on par with a placebo. That means that if you are really ready to quit and someone tells you that this will make you a nonsmoker, then you do become a nonsmoker.

I have heard there are some people who have bought this equipment to set up a laser quit smoking center and paid $80,000 for it. They are just trying to get their money back and some of them have even come out and claimed it just doesn’t work. But I’m not the one saying this. I have seen reports about how this process has not even been FDA approved.

Here’s what the watchdog group, Public Citizen, had to say about the use of quit smoking laser treatment. They go so far as to say that people who use this laser quit smoking process are victims of fraud. They claim the cost of the program is $400 for a 30 minute laser quit smoking treatment. They thought that was expensive, but compared to the cost of smoking, it’s really a great investment with a great return, if it does work as advertised.

There was also a statement by Dr. Norman Edelman, who is chief medical officer of the American Lung Association, who said that there is no evidence that the laser program works.

The FDA is allowing laser quit smoking use in clinical trials and studies. And that is how current laser companies are using their lasers. So there is no conclusive proof about the efficacy of the quit smoking laser. The studies are still ongoing.

hypnosis to quit smoking works

Hypnosis to quit smoking has been used for years to help smokers become nonsmokers. I have had success working with clients who had failed using other methods, including quit smoking laser. And, while this post isn’t quite so positive toward laser quit smoking, it should be noted that one of the most commonly recommended ways of stopping smoking, nicotine replacement therapy or NRT has a single digit success rate. And that has been heavily promoted by Doctors and Governments and Drug Companies for years.

Hypnosis to Quit Smoking

June 24th, 2010

If you ever considered stopping smoking, you might have considered hypnosis to quit smoking too. You probably already know that hypnosis has a reputation for helping smokers become non smokers very quickly and without drugs, withdrawals and side effects. But did you know why hypnosis is so very effective? I’ll explain it very simply for you here.

hypnosis to quit smoking

Hypnosis is about communicating with the part of your mind that stores all of your feelings. That’s your subconscious mind. In fact your subconscious tells you things with your feelings. That’s one of the ways the subconscious communicates, through feelings.

Take something like sadness, that’s your subconscious telling you that you lost something or somebody. Maybe you’re asking , so what good is that? Well, it’s your subconscious mind looking to rectify the situation by nudging you along to go and find what it is that you lost or replace it. Because it’s something that your subconscious has figured you must need. So it’s a protective measure.

Now hypnosis, being that powerful agent for communicating with your subconscious, can go in there and change your feeling responses. The mistaken previous programming or outdated programming.

How does that figure into the smoking habit? Well one example is, if you’ve been smoking for awhile, you probably have quite a number of emotions connected to smoking. Some you might be aware of and others that you’re completely oblivious to. If you started smoking when you were a teenager and were hanging around with a bunch of friends that were also smoking, then you have connected all those good and exciting times of being a rebellious teen right along with smoking cigarettes . So every time you light up you get all those positive feelings along with the cigarette.

The good news is that you’re not locked into those responses. And you can change them so that you feel differently when you light up. And you can use all those good feelings in a much more effective manner.

So with hypnosis to quit smoking you can manipulate the lessons and responses that are already inside of you to work better for you and your health.

I know you want to quit smoking and you want to do it now. Why wait? You’re wasting precious time and money continuing to smoke. Call me at 212 223-1832 and I’ll tell you how I can help you become a non smoker today.

Stop Smoking Hypnosis In New York Video

May 29th, 2010

Interesting hypnosis session for someone coming in to become a non smoker. In NY quit smoking is a lot cheaper than continuing to smoke. An average smoker these days smokes between half to a full pack of cigarettes a day. That comes to a yearly expenditure of $1825 to $3650 just in cigarettes. That doesn’t take into account the additional medical and health care costs, nor the sick days incurred and all the other additional physical and mental expenses that are hard to put a number on.

NY Quit Smoking – How To Quit Smoking

May 18th, 2010

There are what seems like a number of ways to quit smoking. And the way that you decide to quit smoking should be determined by where you are in the timeline of quitting. I mean, are you ready to quit now, today or are you just thinking about quitting sometime in the future, or are you not ready at all? Wherever you are there is a next step that is meant to bring you as quickly as possible to being a non smoker forever.

So here’s some advice for where you are right now:

NY Quit Smoking - Pick Your Quit Date

This is the burning question for New York Stop Smoking Hypnosis

If you are not ready to quit smoking, then you should continue to browse through this website and others like it. Get some ideas about the harm that cigarettes can do to the human body and what the downsides are to being a smoker. Maybe even read up on some case histories of smokers who decided to quit but quit too late, or came upon the desire to quit after it didn’t matter anymore. See if you can’t find some personal reasons why quitting for you would be a good choice.

If you’ll be ready to quit smoking soon, just don’t think you can wait forever.  Putting off your quit day is not a good strategy.  You know that when you tell yourself that you are going to do something tomorrow, or next week, or next month or sometime down the road, it never happens.  And here’s why…when you tell yourself you’re going to do something tomorrow, what happens when tomorrow comes?  You remember that you said you’d do it tomorrow and guess what, even though that was yesterday, there is still a tomorrow ready for you today.  When you give yourself a specific date as to when you are going to quit, then you are getting yourself ready.  And when that day comes, your mind has accepted your decision and it has had a finite time to get ready.  And it is ready as scheduled.
If you’re ready to quit right now, then that is great.  Prepare yourself for your quit day.  Tell people you know that you’re quitting cigarettes.  If they smoke ask them to not smoke around you, or to be supportive in any way they can.  And make sure that you are stopping smoking, and not just stopping buying cigarettes.  It’s not stopping if you continue to grub cigarettes from smokers around you.   You might line up some kind of support system.  Support is always helpful when making these kinds of changes.  My preferred method of quitting is using hypnosis.  I  have found hypnosis to be the easiest method to use to quit smoking forever.  And at New York Stop Smoking Hypnosis quitting smoking is the specialty.

If you already quit after smoking for awhile, then you can continue to read about all the reasons to stay quit.  There is absolutely no valid reason to go back to smoking.  Any reason you give yourself to start smoking again is just an hallucination.  And I’ve heard all the reasons out there.  One of the biggies is that people say it calms them down.  I can tell you that cigarettes never calmed anyone down.  That’s a big lie.  The main drug in tobacco is nicotine which is a stimulant.  So how in the world can a powerful drug that’s meant to speed you up calm you down?  It can’t it’s just a lie that you and others have been telling yourself so you can have a reason to smoke.  If you need to calm down find something that really does have a calming effect and do that.

If you quit before, but started smoking again then get your mind focused on all the reasons that you want to quit.  And I’m sure they are plentiful.  Make a nice long list and notice how you feel as you tick off each and every reason.  Then look for a way you can implement a new plan of action.  Most people who successfully quit smoking did it after they failed a number of times.  You could say that the failures were just learning experiences that prepared them for finally becoming determined to put cigarettes out of their life forever.

NY Quit Smoking – What Happens When You Quit Smoking?

May 17th, 2010

From the very moment that you smoke your last cigarette, your body is doing all it can to eliminate whatever it cannot use. Our body’s are like a huge conglomerate that owns many

When You Smoke you don't need any sex appeal. NY Quit Smoking

different manufacturing businesses. And each of those manufacturing plants are the trillions of cells that our body houses. When we add anything to our body, air, water, food, or any organic or inorganic substance, our body looks to identify it and send it to where it can be used in the manufacturing process. And what is our body manufacturing? Hormones, blood, lymph fluids, saliva, tears, new cells, whatever it needs to stay alive and functioning as well as possible.

So anything that our body cannot use is either stored or eliminated. Anything that comes into our body from cigarette smoking is not needed by our body. I never heard of a normal human being having a deficiency of any of the more than 4000 chemical compounds that a burning cigarette supplies to us. So what isn’t stored is released. Nicotine is one of the chemicals that leaves our body quickly. So quickly that it is felt almost immediately upon the cessation of your last cigarette. That’s the normal discomfort that a smoker feels that they associate with needing another cigarette. Some think it’s a craving, but it’s not. It’s just a mild sensation that goes away when you smoke. In most smokers it is so mild that if they are distracted by anything they will completely forget they were looking for a smoke.

So here’s what happens within 24 of your last smoke:

The human body is amazingly resilient.

Within the first 20 minutes of quitting, the healing process
begins. The benefits will continue to improve your health
and quality of life for years.

When you quit smoking, the benefits begin within minutes of your
last cigarette.

At 20 minutes after quitting:

* Blood pressure decreases
* Pulse rate drops
* Body temperature of hands and feet increases.

At 8 hours:

* Carbon monoxide level in blood drops to normal
* Oxygen level in blood increases to normal

At 24 hours:

* Chance of a heart attack decreases

So I’m sure you have some personal reasons to quit smoking, and it’s time to start focusing on them until you are so fed up with smoking and not having the control you want that you are ready to quit right now.

If you can muster up that kind of intensity on your own, that’s great! If not, don’t worry, all is not lost. Either way, when you need some help quitting smoking, give me a call at

Hypnosis To Quit Smoking Manhattan- Video On What Is Hypnosis?

May 15th, 2010

From the Smoking Hypnotist

This brief video tells you about what New York hypnosis is.

Hypnosis is just a word that describes a trance state of mind. It is an altered state of consciousness not unconsciousness. And that means that you are not asleep, but wide awake. And the altered state that they are referring to just means that it is a different state than you are usually in during your waking hours.

While you are in this altered state known as hypnosis you are more suggestible. This just means that you are able to be more accepting of new ideas without the usual criticism that would destroy these new ideas from being considered as alternatives of thought.

What it doesn’t mean is that you will blindly accept these new ideas. NO! It means that you will consider them. And that is all that is needed in order for you take the first steps in then deciding to accept these new ideas as something you would like to add into your life.

So this is just one of the many aspects of hypnosis. I hope this was helpful for you in understanding how this powerful technology works.
